Our 1# priority is the lifelong love and care of our puppies!
We appreciate your interest.
Standard Schnauzers are first time learners. They are working dogs with typical Schnauzer lovable traits, but also the drive and desire of other highly intelligent working dogs like the Doberman, Boxer & Portuguese Water Dog.
Our priority is the lifelong love and care of our puppies. We research and plan our litters emphasizing on health, temperament, and conformation. Finding the right home is important in being a proper, caring, and ethical breeder. We do not consider our puppies only a transaction, we are here to help you work with the excitement and challenges of a puppy and adult. We want our puppies to be a cherished and loved family member.
All of our companion Standard Schnauzers are sold with a strict agreement that includes limited AKC registration and a mandatory spay/neuter contract between 9 and 12 months old.
Our approval process starts with your answering the below questions.
If you'd like to be considered for a puppy or adult please, write about the following:
1) Your family and household (adults, children, and pets) and others that will be spending time with your SS. Does anyone have allergies? If yes, what type of reaction? Have you talked with your doctor?
2) Your dog and pet history - breed(s), how long you have owned, include the breeder’s name, and contact info
Have you spent time with a Standard Schnauzer? If not, other working dogs? Large terriers? Which breeds?
What drew you to the SS? What drew you to Crivitz Standard Schnauzers?
3) Have you ever returned a dog (or another pet) to their breeder, submitted a dog to rescue, shelter or given one away? Please, explain.
4) Your home, include if you have a fenced in yard? Height of fence, we suggest a secure 6’ fence? What is your plan for exercise, safety, and security? SS are not dependable off leash.
5) Have you researched socialization and obedience training? We strongly suggest weekly training for the first year to bring out the highest and best of your SS. Are you able to commit to classes? Who will take the classes?
Please, reply with additional information including where a Standard Schnauzer will be in your life and your expectations. Are you looking for an exercise partner? retirement companion? family pet? travel partner? 4-H, agility, obedience, rally?
Include your -
1) name(s), address, and phone numbers
2) vet(s), address, and phone numbers
3) researched puppy class(es), address and phone numbers
4) prior breeder(s) name, address, and phone number
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Amy Shaffer

If you don't hear back within the week, please - check your spam filter first, be sure you have answered all our questions.
Once you are approved, please, be sure to place your deposit and keep in contact.
** We do not ship unaccompanied puppies. Our suggestion, if you are not able to drive, is to fly in Green Bay on a turn around flight. We'll meet you at the airport - bring a Sherpa bag and fly home with your puppy inside the cabin with you. Other new homes have flown in and rented a car for their return trip.**
Occasionally, we have a puppy or young adult that we grow up planning to show, but we decide to place in a companion home spayed or neutered. We occasionally have a finished CH spayed (female available to the right home) or neutered available also. We first look to our repeat homes and our deposits for these homes.
If you do not see a reply, please, check you spam filter.
